HHS Awards $150M to Grow Health Center Sites
- By BSTQ Staff
In November, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced that $150 million in awards will be issued under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to support 236 new full-time health center delivery sites across the nation. This funding will help care for approximately 1.25 million additional patients. Community health centers play a vital role in bringing healthcare services to neighborhoods with historically high uninsurance rates. Residents will have the ability to enroll in new coverage options available in the health insurance marketplaces under the ACA through expanded access to Medicaid in many states, new private health insurance options and tax credits.
